Humanity has learned an important lesson from the COVID-19 pandemic. Not just in the area of healthcare and medicine, but across all other industries as well.

A lot of companies that prefer their employees working in joint offices had no choice but to let everyone work from home during the lockdown. What happened next shocked the whole world.

Data Shows Remote Working Sparks Productivity

It turns out workers are a lot more productive (and efficient) when working remotely. The reason being, remote work offers a much better work-life balance. Meaning, workers are generally happier and more motivated to succeed in all fields of life, including work.

Yet, employees are not the only ones who benefit from this kind of a “deal.” Namely, companies also get their fair share by paying fewer utility bills and spending less on rent, office supplies, and the like. So, you can just imagine how much some companies have saved up until now. We’ll give you a hint: a lot.

Work From Home Employee Numbers Are Soaring

If we look at the work from home statistics, we see that merely 3.6% of Americans were allowed to work half-time or more at home before the pandemic. Saying that this is a small percentage would be a huge understatement, especially when you take all the benefits into consideration

However, there’s still hope for this work method, in large part, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ironically, due to the current situation, managers, employers, and business owners have realized the true potential of remote work and how it can help them grow their business. Some might even continue using it long after the whole corona situation blows over.

In fact, the notion that businesses could save up to $44 billion annually just by letting people work remotely makes you wonder why some employers insist on working in an office in the first place. In 2020, we have a whole plethora of technology at our disposal, ranging from augmented reality, video calls, and the like.

The truth is — there’s no longer any valid reason for anyone to be forced to commute only to be confined to an office complex.
